Granite is a crystalline, granular rock which consists of quartz, feldspar and mica. It is generally found in whitish, grayish and red color but it does not have the mica in planes which is different from gneiss. Granite is the most widely used material for kitchen, vanity, fireplaces, bathroom and mantles. The major part of the world’s granite supply is imported from India, Brazil, China, Italy and parts of Africa. The stone is excavated from the quarries in the form of large blocks. They can be as large as up to 50 feet in height. Granite is available in colors like absolute black, blue pearl, crystal white, golden garnet, rich green, tropical brown, etc.

Granite blocks after excavated, are cut by the modern machinery which makes transportation to the stockyards easier. In the stockyard the blocks are sawed to get the preferred thickness. Then resin process checks the fissures and surface pits of the granite slab. Then the polishing is done with abrasives and diamond wheels to bring out the beautiful texture, color and pattern of the slab. Based on color and thickness the slabs are then stacked and transported to the importers and warehouses.
